Figure 8 Island…
Over Memorial Day weekend my Mom and I went out to Figure 8 Island. Figure 8 is a private residential island so you either have to fork over the big bucks to vacation/ live there or be invited. We were invited!

Found over 7 perfect sand dollars in about an hour!
After walking along the beach for shells we went for a drive to check out some of the beautiful houses:
Lots of unusual houses too
If you ever have the chance to get out to Figure 8 or stay there you should. It’s quiet, removed and beautiful but still less than 30 minutes away from Wilmington. There are over 440 homes on the island and only 40 year round residents. We were only out there for a few hours but I bet a week would be good for you.
