Boston Weekend…

October 20, 2009

After a quick good-bye to Finley at the kennel we flew out of Raleigh to Boston with the excuse that we were going to Boston College – NC State game but really we were excited to leave town!

The Weekend was pretty busy and I have made separate posts about the main activities that we did.

But for some reason we could also call this trip the “Boston Bar Tour 2009”.  We had a blast and my Aunt Jeanne and Uncle Tim knew every where to go and we ran into people they knew at a lot of the places.

I didn’t seem to take any pictures at the bars the first night but we went into Doyle’s which is a pretty popular bar near the Sam Adams brewery and has been used as a movie location a few times.

The second night, after our terrible game we went back to the house and got changes before heading down to one of their favorite restaurants. I can’t remember the name but we called it “Ricky’s” because one of the owners, Ricky, was the funniest and most personable Asian man! The upstairs is one of those traditional Japanese Steak houses that also serves sushi. The basement is a karaoke bar.  Ricky orders for you and jokes with you then comes down in the basement and sings the best Frank Sinatra you have heard.

Sunday Morning we did a lot of walking int he cold rain, but got to see how pretty Boston is anyway, I just didn’t take a ton of pictures because I didn’t want my camera to get wet.

After all the walking we ended up at “The Greatest Bar” (seriously, that was its name) to watch the Patriots game. We met up with my Uncle Tim’s brother and his girlfriend too. Everyone at the bar was obviously Patriots fans and they were super excited to win 59-0 against the Titans.

Sunday night after the game we caught up on other scores and watched some of the Phillies game before packing and heading to bed.

The flight the next morning DEPARTED at 7 am so we had to get up around 4:45 and get ready then head to the airport. It was an early morning but it was nice to avoid Traffic and get there with no problems.

Good-Bye Boston! Thanks!
