Head of the Charles Regatta…

October 20, 2009

While we were in Boston the “Head of the Charles Regatta” was held over near Harvard so we decided to check it out.

I will be the first to claim that I have never seen Crew and didn’t even know NC State had a little club team. So we weren’t really sure what we were watching but to say we went was cool. Now if only the weather had been better…

Harvard is still super pretty and I felt smarter just being around it ;)

From what I have read on their website, The Head of the Charles is the worlds largest rowing event and spread out to be 2 days long back in 1997 although it originally started in 1965.  Each year they expect around 300,000 spectators over the whole weekend but my rough estimate from being there was that due to the weather there were less than 5,000 people.

I can tell you are smarter from talking to you, I used to walk you around Harvard yard in the stroller when you were a baby, and pre-being born. And just in case you didn’t know I was on crew at one point in high school or junior high can’t remember. Strange but true.
