Finley Friday: Scared Silly…

Finley has decided to be terrified of everything.

Ok that sounds much more dramatic then it really is, but he sincerely is awkwardly scared of walking and running on the hardwood floors and is super scared of the Christmas tree.

Don’t believe me? I have picture proof:

See him there in the living room? I am holding up prime sausage meat to lure him to pretty please come up stairs… and the furthest he would come off the carpet was 2 steps.

He eventually gets some super-dog courage and does this hilarious run through the dining room like some one is chasing him and his little paws scurry across the floor so fast then he pauses in the kitchen like “whew! I made it!” before coming up stairs or finally eating his dinner in the kitchen.

Most of the time we think it’s hilarious because we can see his internal struggle with “is it worth it to run across the scary dining room to get the treat” but I have started to feel so bad for him! I have to wonder what happened to make him nervous about the floors.

Oh Finley, buddy, you are so weird but that’s just another reason we love you!

Anyone else have a dog that seems to be scared of his own shadow sometimes?

a few years ago, when playing fetch, milo’s rear-end had a run-in with the corner of the cabinet in my bathroom. he yelped. i comforted. he was fine, but pitiful. after that, he was TERRIFIED of going anywhere near the bathroom. he eventually got over it, but i felt so bad for him until he did!

Tob will chase anything loud–motorcycles, UPS trucks, garbage trucks, etc. Rex is sometimes a momma’s boy and will stay right by me if he’s scared. We’re working on it with him though–he’s a lab for goodness sake!! Such a cute story though! I love the “super dog courage” he gets! I know just what you’re talking about. :)

Love it! Wilma scares herself all of the time. We will be out on a walk and leaves will rustle in the wind and she literally jumps. It’s so funny!
