Finley the Gimp…

October 12, 2011

So for about a week now Finley has decided to only use three of his four legs.

It started out of the blue last Wednesday and he is currently hoping around the living room as I type. He doesn’t cry, and he hasn’t fallen or played really hard in a while.  It was totally weird.

We went to the vet last week and we saw our favorite vet who thought a small sore on his paw was the cause. He had a little fever so we started him on some anti-biotics with instructions to call in 5 days if he was still limping.

So today I called when his limp was worse but the little sore better.

So a couple of hundred dollars and a few prescriptions  later:

Looks like Finley has a hurt “Cranial Cruciate Ligament” from what the vet showed me on a knee model and  explained it’s basically the tiny cris-crossed ligament in the back of the knee. I guess they don’t think it’s torn but they do think it’s twisted or strained.

So we’ll spend 2 weeks with no walks (not that he liked walks anyway), no playing the yard and mandatory leg massages.

I’m glad we have a name and a reason for his pitiful limping but ready to see my guy playing like normal!

Poor Finley! I hope he feels better soon! I know dogs don’t like foot or leg massages, but honestly I’d be ok with that. :)
