House Details…

February 20, 2012

Y’all are the SWEETEST! Thank you soooo much for your congrats! We are really excited to have this in the process and can’t wait to get in it and call it home.

Right now it looks like this:

Here are a few more pictures of the model that’s already built so you can get a better idea.

And since it’s new my favorite things to look at are the house plans I got those on here too. (I think looking at the layout makes it seem so real.)

Here is the Downstairs:

Right off the bat the we loved how open the floor plan is. The kitchen opens up to the dining room and the family room area. The back deck and front porch are right there and add a lot of great light. It will be a change to have the master on the first floor but it works really well with the flow and layout.

Here is the upstairs:

The second floor is where they used the space so smartly. We looked at some houses that had weird pockets of unused space and therefore left you with tiny bedrooms. But this house uses all of it’s space really well. We don’t have a ton of furniture but when we do have some we want one of these rooms being a dedicated guest room and the other being an office/ guest room. Anyone who’s stayed at our house before knows we had the blow up mattress on the floor of our office and called that a guest room in the past – this is one of the things we are most excited about fixing!

The house on a whole has really great storage space. Before we had an attic and a tiny shed space on the patio – in this house we’ll have tons of closets and the storage it comes with. We also get a Linen Closet (woohoo!!) – no more keeping sheets under the bed in a box anymore!

I’ve been mentally planning where the furniture will go since we first saw the house and besides an actual master bedroom set we wont need much to make it feel pretty homey. We want to make great use of the deck and be able to host people pretty quickly since that’s what living at the beach is all about anyway :)

Hopefully the start the actual building this week. I know the lumber was ordered last week and the permits have been pulled and approved! You can bet I’ll be popping over with any excuse to check on their progress. Those construction guys are going to know me by name by June!

I’m looking forward to sitting on the porch and watching Finley play in his new fenced in backyard, and seeing the colors you will pick for your Beach house.

The washer and dryer are in the laundry room. It’s in the back of the house on the main floor off the dining room. :)
